An Evening in Seville
Saturday, April 6, 2024
Agatha Furth Center, Windsor, CA

Proceeds from "An Evening in Seville!"
will benefit these three important projects:

High School Wellness Center

A student created, safe place for any student to ease student stress and learn tools for their well-being. The High School Wellness Center is available to students who attend Windsor Oaks Academy, Big Picture (formally North Bay Met Academy), and Windsor High School (total enrollment of 1,744). The 9-12th graders learn how to manage and become self-advocates for their own emotional, physical, sexual health and substance (mis)use.

Keiser Park Pump Track

This project involves the creation of a youth cycling pump track incorporated into Keiser Park in the newly purchased parcels on the eastern side of the park. A pump track is a circuit made of small mounds of dirt, shaped into rolling hills, banked turns, and other low features. These tracks are designed to be ridden completely by riders pumping - generating momentum with up and down body movements - instead of pedaling or pushing. The final pump track (April, 2025) will be 22,000 sq ft. and designed to attract all levels of riders (beginner – advanced) with a separate Kiddie track. The proposed pump track is a collaborative project of the Windsor Parks and Recreation, Windsor Unified School District, Redwood Trails Alliance, and the King Ridge Foundation. See more here: Keiser Park Pump Track.

Every 15 Minutes

That is how often a person is injured or killed in an alcohol or drug related auto accident. The Every 15 Minutes program spans two days and involves the entire high school student body challenging them to think seriously about the consequences of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs especially while driving. The focus is on personal safety, the responsibility of making mature decisions, and the impact those decisions have on family, friends, and their community. The program is very dramatic and emotional - and purposely so. Teens know the intellectual statistics; however, many teens share the belief it will never happen to them.  This program is brought to the high school every four years.  For more information: Every 15 Minutes
